    1. Peter Roth in Indiana
    2. This summer when I was researching in Harrison County IN near Lanesville I stopped by the cemetery at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville hoping to find the graves of my gr-gr-grandparents John and Eva Roth who owned a farm there in 1860. At the time I did not know that they had left Harrison County and moved to Wisconsin abt. 1862. Of course I did not find their graves but I did find stones for other Roth's, including a prominent stone for Peter Roth. I later did some investigating, still not knowing that my ancestors had left the area, and could make no direct connection between them and Peter. However, it would not surprise me at all to learn that these Roth's were somehow related. My Roth's arrived on the Ship Manchester in 1854, and listed their point of origin as Bavaria. The ship departed Havre and arrived in New Orleans, so my Roth's would have traveled up the Mississippi and Ohio R. to get to Lanesville.
