My Father said that in Germany, Roth was spelled and pronounced Rothe and later chaged to Roth when coming to the United States. Maybe your family Kept the German spelling of Roth when coming over. Do you know what part of Europe they came from? My Family came from Germany in the 1800s' as well. Peter W. Roth was young boy when coming over and they settled in New York before coming West to Wisconsin. They settled in Watertown, Wisconsin. If you would like more information I will be glad to try to give you what I can. Sincerely, Joyce A. Allen
