    3. Hello... I was sent this to sign a petition on the National Cemetery Act. God only knows the older cemetery and grave sites need something to protect them. I hope something is done about some cemeteries in my area that have not been kept up. You may interested as well. http://www.petitiononline.com/sg0001/petition.html Have a Happy and Safe 4th! 1. John and Anna Maria Roth??
    2. I'm searching for immigration information and/or parentage of John (Johannes or Johannes Wilhelm) Roth, b. 15 June 1874 or 1876, and his sister, Anna Maria Roth, b. 24 June 1875. According to Anna Maria's marriage banns of February 1894, she (and Johan) came from Hermannstadt, Siebenburgen, Austria/Hungary (now Sibiu, Romania), arriving in the USA, port unknown, on 12 March 1891, bound for Avon Village or Lorain, OH. I've checked all the passenger lists of ships arriving in the USA on and close to this date at the National Archives, but with no luck. I've checked for early 1891 departures on the Hamburg Immigration Website [http://www.hamburg.de/LinkToYourRoots/english/welcome.htm], but again have had no luck. Any assistance with this family would be most appreciated. Gene Buck, ebuck43@aol.com

    3. Aha! I forgot to mention that they are all big people, tall I mean. Glad you mentioned that. My sister's son is much, much taller than either his mom or dad, and we always wondered where it came from. Must have been the Roth in him. 2. Appears that the family of our Roth's from that particular area are also Roth "red or ruddy" of nature. Prone to an easy tanning too!

    3. ---------- From: Shirley Treadway shirleyt@dnet.net My ancestors are ADAM ROTH, b. abt. 1820 Bavaria, emigrated abt. 1849, settled in Pittsburgh, PA. This information is from family history - can't find any "concrete" evidence about any of this. His son, GEORGE, was my g-grandfather, who lived for a time in Wood Co. WV (occup. Cooper), then removed to Townville, Crawford Co. PA. Question #1: Does anyone out there have any information on these men or their families? Question #2: I am curious about the Roth complexion. I have pictures of George and all his children. They all have dark complexions with very brown eyes, and are large boned. Most of their children inherited the same. George's wife, Margaret Rost, was also from Germany, but I don't know what she looked like. I always had heard that the German people were fair, blond, and blue-eyed. This makes me wonder "Where did my Roths originally come from???" Would appreciate any help or enlightenment. Thanks shirleyt@dnet.net
