I do have a little more information on the Roth family. There where 5 children, I believe that their names where Oscar, Erving, Madaline, Amanda, and Elsie. Their parents where Peter and Emma and I did forget Emma name because my dad did not speak allot aboutthe family and has since paased away. I am trying to find about my father's ancestry and what became of the family. I do know that his grandparents lived in Watertown Wisconsin, I do believe it was a farm. We visited my Great Aunt Elsie, who was married to Walter Grandorf in Watertown many years ago. I am on my way to town today but will try to get you more information as we correspond. Thank you for your response and I will be looking forwar to hearing from you soon. Sincerely Joyce A. Allen

    3. Hi Paul. Inbetween our correspondence, I found an article in my father's old scrapbook relating to Herbert G. ROTH's father. Actually, his name was Herbert E. ROTH. "With colors flying and bands plaing, line after line of marching soldiers will file past the reviewing stand at Fort Lawton this morning. And up in the stand, trimly erect, will be the reviewing officer, Technical Sergeant Herbert E. ROTH. The review is to be held in honor of his retirement after more than thirty years of distinguished service. Sergeant ROTH, sixty-one, enlisted at the age of eighteen. He has been stationed at Fort Lewis and Fort Lawton with the Sixth Engineers since 1926. In the course of this morning's review, Maj. Lincoln B. Chambers, commanding officer of the Sixth engineers, will present him a gold watch on behalf of the company." Unfortunately, I, too, know nothing more about these folks. Their adopted son and I never got along and, although I've tried the Internet, I haven't been able to locate him. Well, if you do find these characters in your tree, keep me in mind. They were quite a prominent real estate family in Lower Lake, California, for many years. Geri R. My gg-grandmother's sister, Emma Sauck (Sauk) married Peter Roth in Jefferson County, WI. They had at least 2 children, Erving and Madaline. (I have a picture that is believed to be Peter and Emma with 2 of their children). They are both buried at Aztalan Cemetery in Aztalan, WI, along with Erving and his wife. Oral history says that they lived in the Watertown, WI area for their entire married lives. It is presumed that Emma was born there. (Her family came from Germany). I have a lot of information on her family. I am interested in further information on their children and Peter's family. I would love to hear from you to compare notes. 3. Hello! I'm new to the list and couldn't help but respond to today's posts. I have a Peter Roth in one branch of my family tree. He married my gg-grandmother's sister, Emma Sauck (Sauk). They were from the Watertown, (Jefferson County), WI area. Peter and Emma are buried at the Aztalan Cemetery, Aztalan, (Jefferson County), WI. Peter was born Sept. 17, 1867 and died April 12, 1945. Emma was born Dec. 20, 1869 and died May 8, 1949. They had at least two children, possibly more. Their known children were Erving and Madeline. Is there any connection? I would be interested in any information from the Roth side of the family and further information on their children. I also have a picture that is believed to be Peter and Emma and 2 of their children, so I'm wondering if there were more children. Thanks for any help or information. 1. Peter Roth in Indiana
    2. This summer when I was researching in Harrison County IN near Lanesville I stopped by the cemetery at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville hoping to find the graves of my gr-gr-grandparents John and Eva Roth who owned a farm there in 1860. At the time I did not know that they had left Harrison County and moved to Wisconsin abt. 1862. Of course I did not find their graves but I did find stones for other Roth's, including a prominent stone for Peter Roth. I later did some investigating, still not knowing that my ancestors had left the area, and could make no direct connection between them and Peter. However, it would not surprise me at all to learn that these Roth's were somehow related. My Roth's arrived on the Ship Manchester in 1854, and listed their point of origin as Bavaria. The ship departed Havre and arrived in New Orleans, so my Roth's would have traveled up the Mississippi and Ohio R. to get to Lanesville.
