Hello List, I am getting old and can someone help me to find out who my great grandfather was? I don't think I can search for another fifty years. Great grandfather was born in Scotland probably Glasgow in 1860, and adopted to an Argyll family, emigrating to Australia in 1886. I found an old 1925 newspaper cutting concerning the murder of Murdoch MacDonald in Malaya aboard his ship, in gg's old house. I have researched this family with some NZ descendants who unfortunately have limited knowledge. If there is someone out there who knows of the family of Hector MacDonald married Ann Mackenzie 1836, Ann's brothers also went to NZ; all the men were ships captains from probably Shieldaig Applecross- please let me know anything you have.
