Hi, I am a new member of this list and am trying to figure out where in Rosshire my ROSSes were from. Brothers William ROSS born July 7,1816, Rosshire and Donald ROSS born Nov. 28, 1819 Rosshire emigrated to Pictou County, Nova Scotia in 1831, with their father William ROSS, who was born in Rosshire about 1779. The father William died at Diamond, near Loganville, in Pictou County in October of 1858. The son William ROSS died at the same place on April 10, 1901 while son Donald ROSS died in March of 1911, same place. William and Donald had two sisters Margaret and Janet, who may have also emigrated with them. The mother's name may be Janet MacKAY, born Sutherlandshire 1778-1780, and died at Diamond, Pictou County in June of 1870. The wife and the two sons and two daughters are all mentioned in William Senior's Will. I do not know what happened to the girls but have considerable information on the boys.
