I just found on the 1881 census CD's of the LDS some Ross-shire men who might be hard to find as they are aboard ship in Liverpool. One particularly so as his birth is transcribed as Lochinver, Sunderland, Durham, England. Surely this should be Sutherland, Scotland, making him invisible on a computer search. Vessel "Isabella" at Liverpool, Lancashire, England All male and unmarried John McDonald, Master, 55 born Applecross, R&C, Scotland Donald McBeath, Mate, 43 born Shieldiag, R&C, Scotland Alexander McNair, A.B.Seaman, 23 born Applecross R&C, Scotland John McLeod, A.B.Seaman, 25 born Lochinver, Sunderland, Durham, England Thomas Gordon, Boy, 14 born Applecross, R&C, Scotland Hope they may be of interest to someone.
