Hello readers, I am continuing my search for Annie Gillanders. I know that Annie Gillanders married William LAMB in England in 1866. I now know that her father was shown as William Gillanders, Timber Merchant. She had the below child (Charles Lamb) who in 1881 was living with his uncle, John Gillanders, in Denny, Stirling, Scotland. Dwelling: Denny Public School House Census Place: Denny, Stirling, Scotland GRO Ref Volume 476 EnumDist 3 Page 40 Marr Age Sex Birthplace John GILLANDERS W 36 M Inverness, Inverness, Scotland Rel: Head Occ: Headmaster Public School William H. Hi Roger, You sound to have enough information to do some serious follow ups 1. Ann Gillanders has a brother John Gillanders who stayed in Scotland...so on Scotland's People you can look him up in the 1891 census and the 1901 census and you can find his death certificate. It will tell you his parents' names...father William which you know and Mother not known as yet. You also know that John was born in Inverness and an aproximate year of birth [around 1844-46] so you can go through Inverness Old Parish Registers for a son John born to William Gillanders[who was a timber merchant] 2. You also have John Gillanders as a Widower in the 1881 census, so his marriage certificate will also have his parents' names. 3. If the William Gillanders in the 1881 census is the correct William, you now know to look through the Urray Parish records for his birth and perhaps his marriage.
