    3. Hi Roddy My Macdonald's are from Latheron Parish, Caithness. They were living well up the Strath of Dunbeath and over into Braemore from the 1760's. The chances are they came over from Kildonan or down from Reay, but I will unlikely get much further back as there are no records available. I have found various references to the MacDonald's in east Sutherland (Kildonan, Clyne, Rogart etc) being called by the patronymic 'MacAdie', but I have failed to find the origin of this so far. What about your Strathconon lot. How far have you got back and when did they arrive there? My lot are from Strathconon. Yours aye Roddy K Macdonald Edinburgh, Scotland Clan Donald Society of Edinburgh <http://www.macdonald60.fsnet.co.uk/cdm/index.htm>
