Many thanks for posting this, Janet. I found my 2nd great grandfather, James DEAS, in the Records, and it added to my knowledge of him. I knew from his Death Certificate that he had died in the Tain Union Poorhouse after a two year illness. I wondered why he was there, as he captained ships around the coast until a couple of years before his death, (ie was always in work), and his wife and family were living in Rosskeen. The Records told me that he was in the Poorhouse for only a month before he died. Presumably it was used as a hospital when the family could no longer cope with the patient at home. It is always satisfying to solve these puzzles.
