Hello Bill In August 2003 I set out my maternal line which came from the vicinity referred to by you.Some of the names also seem to coincide (with a bit of imagination) so I will give you what may be relevant. Regarding my letter referred to above,Donald Maclennan replied and set me straight in a few matters and advised of a few errors when he stated " I have checked the Old Parish Register for the marriage and births for George (Fraser) and Isabella and it is clear that Isabella was a MCLEMAN not Mclennan as listed in familysearch.org and the IGI.This is unfortunate as McLeman and McLennan are two separate and different clans.........". The above elaboration is a divergence from his main research which produced the following:- George FRASER,cooper in Fortrose married Isabella MACLEMAN in Rosemarkie 29 June 1822.There were nine children. One of the children,Jane b.27 Dec. 1831 married a John Ross (coachman,Ardross) at Rosskeen on 16 Dec. 1853. The 1881 census has one of their children named as Hugh MUNRO Ross having been born in Rosskeen. Populations being small in those areas,there may be some connection.
