Hi Listers! Can anyone help please? Some of my McDonalds hailed from Meikle Clyne in ROC and I have been trying to find out its location. This name appears in the OPR's for Kiltearn Book 2. I haven't succeeded with the old maps on the website of National Library of Scotland despite various attempts and sometimes have difficulty with the old maps dot co UK site. Kiltearn is a much larger area than I had thought. According to the first Statistical Account for Scotland: "It is bounded by Alness in the East, Contin and Loch Broom in the North, Dingwall and Foderty in the West and Cromarty Bay in the South." Does anyone know where this place is? Also can anyone advise what other sources are available to find this type of info as I have a few others to find.
