Dear Jenny, If you go to www.streetmap.co.uk, and type in Tarrel as a place, you will be taken to a map which shows Tarrel and Balnagown castle. "Tarbet" is also mentioned on the same map - I don't know of a Torbet , but there are several Tarberts - do you know where in Scotland it was? I don't know for certain that Little Tarrel is the same place exactly as Tarrel - just a thought. In a place name reference book there is a reference to " Big Tarrel and Little Tarrel and Tarrel under the rock" - but unhelpfully it doesn't say if they were places near each other, although the only Tarrel it gives as a place is in Ross, so it is likely. If I come across more information, I'll pass it on! Hope this is helpful Janice On Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at 02:00 PM, ROSSGEN-D-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > > > ROSSGEN-D Digest Volume 05 : Issue 61 > > Today's Topics: > #1 Little Tarrel ["Jenny bakken" > <jennyb@ocis.net>] > #2 unsubscribe ["Jane & David Gow" > <jane_david@cei] > > Administrivia: > To unsubscribe from ROSSGEN-D, send a message to > > ROSSGEN-D-request@rootsweb.com > > that contains in the body of the message the command > > unsubscribe > > and no other text.
