Apologies! It wasn't meant to come across the way it evidently did. I have however several times come across people trying to use these same place names (on Wikipedia, as it happens) in sentences without their articles (the), but hadn't come across someone trying to use both sets (Black Isle and several firths) together without... I was just trying to be helpful and humorous but it evidently sounded like I was being nasty. Should have added some smileys :-( In fact, looking back, I did use *one*!
