I am researching the family of Donald Forsyth (b. about 1764) who married Elspet (Elizabeth) McLennan (b. 1764) sometime in 1794 - location of marriage is not known. I am guessing Urray as the location since Elspet was born there. Donald and Elspet had several children, all believed to have been born in Urray (today's Muir of Ord in Ross & Cromarty): 1. John born 1795 2. William born 1798 3. Alexander born 1800 4. Donald born 1803 5. Roderick born 1806 6. Duncan born 1809 7. Duncan McKenzie born 1810 8. Ann McKenzie born 1812 I am descended from Alexander who married Ann McDonald in March 1831 in Urray. They had a couple of children in Urray (Elizabeth & Catherine). They then moved to Kirkhill Inverness (Donald and Roderick were born) and then onto Buckie in Banffshire in the late 1830's where supposedly Isabella and Alexander were born. The entire family then emigrated to Ontario, Canada to settle and farm about 1847. Alexander was a carpenter. These children all survived in Canada, most married and had several children. There are now quite a number of Alexander Forsyth and Ann McDonald's descendants spread across Canada and the US. I am trying to locate information about Donald Forsyth's parentage and geographic origins and also Ann McDonald's origins. Documents in Canada put Ann McDonald's birth year somewhere between 1806 and 1807. I know that she was not from Urray.
