I have a question regarding surnames used in the Parish Records. We have entry for William McLennan born Kintail, Ross-shire 1805 that we don't know how to interpret. The Register for 1805 records "At Leaghalt 6 May. Christopher McLennan Tenant there & son to Sandy McRery (sp?) B.d a son, William" So if William is a son to Christopher McLennan, why is Christopher a son to Sandy Mc? What is going on here??? Please help, Linda
