I have an image copy of the marriage entry in the OPR of my Fraser ancestors from the GRO. It is a simple statement of their marriage, no parents or witnesses named. Does anyone have any suggestions how to trace back from this entry to verify the parents of the married couple? The image reads: OPR/ Parish Rosskeen/ County Ross/ Proclamations of Banns & Marriages/ dated 9.8.16 (Aug 9 1816) Fraser & Munro/ James Fraser wright Parish of Nigg & Catharine Munro were married on the 9th day of August

Yes, I would love to know this too. I have this problem as well with 2 marriages - one in Urray and one in Melrose. If you hear back and someone does not copy the entire list with their answer, would you please share the answer with me. Hi Wilmer, Since you know the parish where the marriage took place, you might want to check the parish registers. Many of the parish registers have been photo-copied and are available from various sources such as the Family History Center, and of course, other sources.
