Dear Listers, Many thanks to Donald for sending me the 1891 census.Perhaps now I may get on the right track. It is not easy when you lose a couple of generations through the huge emmigration schemes that took their toll on so many. There was a Highland and Island emmigration scheme about 1830 that seemed a bit of a disaster to Australia and New Zealand somehow connected to a Dr Dunmore Lang where the ships were contaminated having come from Hong Kong ---both with typhus and tuberculosis. Has anyone any information on these schemes? once again many thanks especially to Donald MacLennan. Maureen Orewa Hibiscus Coast New Zealand.
