Hello, Could someone please suggest reasons why I recently found 2 separate dates for the same marriage, on the IGI? Alexander Bisset married Ann Ferguson in Rosemarkie on 9.4.1824 (IGI M110802). I also found their marriage as listed on 10.4.1824 but in Cromarty (IGI M110614). Does this have something to do with banns, or parish size/importance, or what? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Suzanne Irvine Brisbane Aust.
Hi Someone has probably already told you, but the banns can be posted to both parties' parishes. I would guess you have one party from each parish.
