Hello all, Can anyone out there resolve a discussion (argument??) going on in my household at the moment, about how long someone in the army might have served? I think I have found someone in my tree (a MacLeod), married 1769 in Edinburgh, a tailor now soldier in the Scots Guards - who, I think, was back in the Highlands by 1772.
