I am searching for information on my SUTHERLAND family who is said to have originally come from the Rosshire side of the Dornoch Firth, then later on, moved to Meikleferry on the Sutherlandshire side of the firth. My first ancestor was Angus SUTHERLAND b.c. 1660 died 1745, whose wife was a ? ROSS, he had at least two sons, Angus Sutherland and Kenneth Sutherland. Angus 2 Sutherland m? had children: David, Christina, and Ann Kenneth 2 Sutherland, m. Christina Ross of Rosshire, had children: David, Angus, Donald, Christina and Janet.
