Dear Listers, Ihave been fascinated with all the interest and replies that I have had over my McLennan and Macrae families-at last I seem to be sorting things out a bit. ;Duncan McLennan1717-1809 married Catherine McLennan1722-1823[dau of Roderick McLennan] They had [1] Anne McLennan who married Duncan Macrae[Donnachadh Og] [2] Ewen McLennan [3]Donald Mc Lennan[Tailor] married Jennet Macrae [4] ALEXANDER MCLENNAN married [1] Catherine Macrae dau of Farquhar Macrae of Torlysich 1806-[2]Mary MACRAE dau of Alexander Macrae[Don Tacksman of Auchtertyre and [3] we are not definite about her yet. [5] Roderick ca 1765-1855 married Charlotte Stewart1778-1844 [6]John of Glenelg married sister of Ewen [Lienassie] [7] Mary1765-1850 married1782 Murdoch McLennan1745-1872 [8] Catherine-thought to have married a Matheson[Duncan Og] but not proven yet - so you can see with all this I am feeling quite excited. Bits and pieces have come from everywhere. My original query about [FERNAIG] some months ago I think have been sorted out-my old letters said that my great aunt lived with her Aunt Ann at Fernaig after her mother died and apparently Ann and Duncan did live there for a while as their son Donald lived there at one time.. The other place I was looking for wasMaligin and I notice on my 1976 reprint of the Macrae book it mentions on page 210 that [Christopher Macrae lived at Malagan in the heights of Kintail] this is all very fascinating. Iwould appreciate any comments-perhaps this is the place I am looking for. Regards to all especially to John McLennan and Elizabeth of dulaig Maureen Orewa NewZealand
Hi - I notice with interest the mention of a "MacRae" book. Is that book readily available for sale? Is it a census book or a clan history book?
