Hello Listers - I'm back again after a year or so. I'm still looking for James THOMSON (from the Tain area) I have found him in the 1881 Census in St Lambert, nr Montreal, Quebec, Canada which Indicates that he was born in 1825. Family legend holds they come from Tain or near-by. I have found a likely family for him from the IGI and wonder if Anyone is related to them, or has some knowledge of them. Parents: Hamilton THOMSON Ann THOMSON nee CARR/CAW siblings: Marion THOMSON ch. 1819 Edderton Ann THOMSON ch.1821 Tain James THOMSON b.1824 Fearn Mary THOMSON ch.1826 Logie Easter Alexander THOMSON ch. 1828 Rosskean and Janet THOMSON ch. 1831 Rosskean. Has anyone come across their entries in the Parish registers or found them in a census? I was unable to find them in the 1841 census Index held by my FHS, but I'm not sure that is complete.
