    3. I have a James Bain (alias Ross), occ ferryman, from Parish of Nigg. He married Margaret MacKedie in Cromarty. Their children were Isabella b. 1816 John b. 1818 James b. 1821 Isabella b. 1823 Daniel b. 1810 Ann b. 1827 Ann b. 1830 Gilbert b. 1833 Mary Matheson b. 1843 (my great-grandmother) This is all I know about this generation. I do not know what Bain (alias Ross) and Ross (alias Bain) mean. Do you think there could be a connection with the Ross line you posted?
