    1. [RossGen] GRAHAM FAMILY
    2. judy rogers
    3. Hi All, I am currently trying to find birth details on a CHRISTINA GRAHAM who married ANGUS MUNRO 1787 at Cromarty. I have checked various sources but cannot find any details which seem to match unless she was christened just before she married. It would seem that the only record is that of her marriage and it does not say who her parents were. There is also no record of her death. I have checked up to the 1881 Census and it would seem that there are not that many Graham's still in either the R&C or Sutherland areas. I would be most grateful if someone could suggest where I should next look. Regards, Judy. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.

    3. Dear Donald, These are "my" Halls, not those of Pete and Morag, but I will try to pass this on to them. I think they were from New Zealand and temporarily in UK so posting this on the R&C Rootsweb list might reach them. I hope you don't mind. This is marvellous news! Yes, please, and I will respond, if you wish, with what I know about this family. Would a photograph of the gravestone be possible in due course? 1. [RossGen] Marriage 1819/MacKenzie, Chisholm, MacLean, Fraz/ser interests
    2. Jan Moon
    3. Hello Listers I know this is a lot to ask, but I wondered if someone has access to check a marriage for me - the info I have has Alexander MacKenzie (son of Duncan Bhan MacKenzie and Janet MacDonald) marrying Annie Fraz (or s)er in Inverness on 30 July 1819. I would be indescribably grateful. I am also looking for links with the abovementioned families: Murdoch MacKenzie (B abt 22/2/1825) married Ann MacLean in Melvaig - they moved to Inverness (2 Albert Street) - this house was demolished when swimming pool built. They had children: Duncan MacKenzie Alexander (Dhu) MacKenzie Anne Jessie (sorry, no dates known) Duncan married Anne Chisholm of Melvaig - they had a grocers shop on Kenneth Street, Inverness. Alexander (Dhu) MacKenzie married Elisa MacLean -he was an overseer on the Flowerdale Estate, Gairloch. They were perhaps cousins or related in some way. I am also trying to trace a James Frazer who married Barbara Cameron I would think late 1700's, only place I have is Ross-shire. They had 6 children: Simon Archie Christie Flora Annie (my gx3 gmother) born abt 1802 Bella The family may have emigrated to Nova Scotia and then to NZ - or perhaps Annie married in Inverness and emigrated with her husband, whatever Annie married Alexander (Mhor) MacKenzie born abt 19/11/1798.I have no idea when they went to NS, whether separately or together, but I have their eldest son, William MacKenzie, being born in Cape Breton in 1826. This brick wall has driven me nuts for years!! I would give anything, almost to find out how and when Alexander went to Nova Scotia. He was part of the 5 groups that later folllowed Rev Norman MacLeod from Nova Scotia to New Zealand, but I have found no evidence that he was a Normanite himself. The MacKenzies, MacLeans, MacDonalds plus Chisholms, MacLennans seemed to intermarry quite a bit. Was it common for people in those days to marry after children were born? I have Alexander being born in 1798 and his sister Anna b abt 30/8/1803 and an brother Murdoch in 1806 and the parents Duncan MacKenzie abd Janet Macdonald marrying in 1807. This is a bit jumbled, I hope it makes sense - oh why does each generation have the sames names - so frustrating!! 2. Bill Dean Myatt
    3. Between 1923-78 the Beltona record label issued over 3000 x 78-rpm records as well as LPs and EPs. Most of these were by Scottish artists and I am anxious to find out something of their lives and careers. Scottish popular culture as represented on commercial gramophone records has been almost totally ignored and my researches aim to rectify this state of affairs. Visit my web site at www.beltonaproject.co.uk for a complete list of artists and more details of the project. I am always willing to help anyone with a query about a 78rpm record of Scottish interest (i.e When was it recorded?) Bill Dean-Myatt. [email protected]

    3. Hi, I had ancestors who lived in Resolis and were married at Brealangwell and worked at Ballicherry (Balcherrie). Donald McKenzie was a servant at Ballicherry. What was Ballicherry, and what sort of work was done there. Why do you think that my ancestors Donald McKenzie and Isabella Munro were married at Brealangwell in 1829 when they lived at Resolis? Was there no church at Resolis? Any information on Ballicherry, Brealangwell and Resolis would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Paul Stretton Melton Australia
