Funk and Ross are both names that can be found in southern Tippecanoe and northern Montgomery Counties in Indiana. I've got both of these names in my family tree, but nothing on these particular individuals. I would recommend posting to the Tippecanoe and Montgomery County lists and see what you can come up with there. Also, if John was born in 1812 it is fairly unlikely he was born in Indiana, it didn't become a state until 1816 and was very sparsely populated prior to that time.
