I know there are a number of researchers who in the past have been researching this gentleman and his family. Stephen Ross is found in Hampshire County on the 1782 census, with a family of 9, but by 1784 he has relocated. Almost every item I have found on this gentleman infers that he was from or went to Hardy County, then relocated (again) to Ross County, Ohio, where he reputedly dies ca 1814. I am curious and would be so appreciative if anyone could enlighten me to a source of documentation that places this Stephen Ross in Hardy County between 1782-1814. In researching this fellow out over the past few years, I've yet to find anything, with the exception of other researchers genealogical data, that actually could prove that he was in Hardy County.
