He was born in Scotland in 1794 and emigrated to Canada. He died in 1876 in Zorra, TWP, Oxford Co., Ontario, Canada. He married Caroline Shaw, who born in 1803 and died in Zorra, TWP in 1888. They were married June 9, 1849 in Brock District, Ontario, Canada.
