    3. Hello, I am Frank Flint Soule. I am trying to research the line of my maternal grandfather Edward J. Ross,Jr. I am somewhat experienced having researched several other lines back to 1620,1638,etc. The Ross family has me "stumped".Oral tradition (unproved of course) had the line back to George Ross "The Signer". I rented a microfilm of the "Signers of" book from LDS and couldn't find a link. This is the tidbit I have: Edward Jackson Ross, Jr. (22 Sept 1883-31 Oct 1972) born Germantown, PA Edward Jackson Ross (30 Jan 1850-1930 something) born Middletown, Dauphin Co.,PA I have no idea who Edward J. Ross's father was. As both Father and son have "Jackson" as a middle name I feel there must be a link to that family, but haven't found it. Prior to 1972 I wasn't interested in this. (like my children are not interested now) There must have been some NJ connection as the family ended up in East Orange, NJ. Possibly a connection to the Rosses that moved from NJ to Western PA? Joseph Ross? I have my grandfather's Pennsylvania tall case clock made in Harrisburg,PA in abt. 1790. I think it has been in his family since it was made. If I could get a hint I could look at the actual census records for 1860,1870 to see Edward the 1st as a child. To look at all the records would be a shotgun time consuming task. Any help would be appreciated. Sincerely, Frank F. Soule ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET!
