Is there anyone on the list that is connected to Sulivan ROSS and wife, Margaret LEITH who were in Scotland in the 1700's. My g-g-grandfather, Sullivan ROSS was born in Ohio about 1836 and that is where I am stuck with my ancestry. By 1850, Sullivan's father had passed away and it has been impossible to determine who his father was, although Sullivan and his brother, George H. both named their firstborn son's William H. I have found that the 'H' stands for Henry. Any information in the offspring of the Scottish Sulivan ROSS family would be appreciated as it may provide some clues to my line. I have been told that William Henry Ross, son of my Sullivan spoke with what is presumed was a Scottish accent. The source, a descendant of William's has been to Scotland herself and recognized the speech as being the same dialect she heard as a child.
