    1. A Quaker Ross family NC to OH late 1700's early 1800's
    2. To date, I have no solid evidence that This Reuben Ross is related to my Reuben Ross but wanted to share it. Hope it helps someone. Audrey The following information was taken from Records of Jones County, North Carolina 1779-1868 Vol. 1, by Zae Hargett Gwynn published in 1963 by Kingsport Press, Inc., Kingsport, Tennessee Dec. 24, 1774 land sale of Mary AMIT to John BENNETT, 2nd signature witness David ROSS Oct 26, 1778 James McCONNELL, Newbern, NC, merchant to Reuben ROSS of Craven Co. NC 40 acres 40 pnds, 46 acres N. side of Trent River in Craven Co. tract granted John MACE** in 1767. Oct. 4, 1779 Reuben ROSS, patented land entry, 100 acres N of Trent, joining my own land & Emanuel SIMMONS, DAVICES line and the river. 1779 Taxable Property Jones County NC ROSS, David 70 acres 668 pnds. ROSS, Reuben (a Quaker refused to swear) 65 acres Jones Co., 858 pnds. April 8, 1780 Reuben ROSS 15 acres N. side of Trent River, land entry June 13, 1781 Reuben ROSS sold to Josiah WILSON, 40 acres 40 pnds land patent grant to John MACE, 26 acres deeded to Emanuel SIMMONS by John MACE Wit: David & Deborah ROSS Jan 1, 1791 Reuben ROSS sold to Jesse Thomas** 40 acres 50 pnds land purchased from James McCORNETT, 24 acres adjoining land granted to Reuben Ross This could be the Reuben Ross, wife Elizabeth for whom I found Quaker records in the area that show him in 1782 being rcvd into Core Sound MM (Carteret Co, NC) from Contentney MM (Wayne Co, NC) and moving to Trent MM in 1793 by 1800 he and family were being rcvd at Westland MM (Washington Co,PA)from Trent MM by 1815 they moved to Plainfield MM(NJ) He and wife Elizabeth were in Harrison Co, OH by 1817 **John Mace, Jesse Thomas also members of the Core Sound Quaker Monthly meeting the same time as Reuben Ross. Reuben Ross apparently married a widow Elizabeth (possibly Brown) as a sta ment is made about her dtr Rebecca Brown and their children David, Mary, Anna, Elizabeth, and Phebe. Anna married William Frazier Oct 2 1817 at the Plainfield Monthly Meeting in NJ. Mary married Boaz Atherton April 2, 1812 in Wsetland MM-Washington Co, PA
