    3. Dear Ross Researchers. My brick wall is finding parents, siblings or any information of Joseph F. Ross. Joseph was my husband's grandfather of German descent, emmigration date unk. I only have a window of documentable evidence of 1890-1892 in Portland, Oregon. Joseph F. Ross married Miene (Stein) Kepper widow of John Kepper in Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington 17 July 1890 (marriage certificate) though divorce papers state August. They resided in Portland, Oregon in 1890 and possibly had "Ross Flour and Feed Store" located on William (now Rhine) and Milwaukie St in 1891 according to the City Directory of Portland, Oregon.. Two children were born to this marriage: (1) Fred Ross b 13 Dec 1890 who married Louise Imogen COWDON, daughter of James Selden Cowdon and Marian Norwood CHAMBERLIN, on 31 Mar 1914 in Portland, Oregon. 5 children were born of this marriage, 3 still living. (2) Elizabeth Ross b 4 May 1892, Portland, Or. who married Charles Chester RENFRO, she died 3 Oct 1957. Three children, Mary, Robert and Richard. Joseph Ross deserted Miene 4 months prior to daughter Elizabeth's birth and in 1904 Miene filed for a divorce to protect property she had acquire on her own. Her divorce papers state that Joseph was a member of several German Societies of that time in Portland. No clues from this yet. Miene had been married twice before Joseph, First to John KEPPER and a daughter Gertrude and son John were born in Milwaukee, WI. She married second August B. DIEMEL in Milwaukee and two more children were born, Henry and Mary Diemel. I think Miene removed to Oregon abt 1888 either following or moving with her sister Mary (Stein) Stubbe, wife of William Stubbe. They resided in Estacada, Or. Miene raised all of these children plus possibly a step-son Frank Diemel in Portland. Mary and Frank Diemel removed to CA and Henry remained in Portland with his half sister and brother Fred and Elizabeth ROSS. Elizabeth was known mostly as "Lizzie" and resided and raised her family in the Sellwood area of greater Portland. If anyone knows of this family, or allied or collateral line please, I would like to hear from you. As usual this has been a brick was of many years. I have run out of documentable info and need new leads or clues. Anything to share? Thank you Sharron Emery Ross
