Everyone has pitched in to find David Ross, How about helping me find my GGrandfather James Ross. Here is all I know about him, I have tried all I can think of. Any info would be great. James Ross, Father of Joseph B or R Ross, Married Almira or Elmira ???? according to the 1880 census for chicago cook county for Joseph R Ross ( it is my Grandfather My Grandmother's name is correct.) he was born in Ireland as was Almira/Elmira. Joseph was born in 1854 or 1855 in chicago his death certificate said he lived in chicago 41 years and he was 41 when he died. James must have died before 1860 as Almira/Elmira married again to William J/G Bigley and their first child was born in 1861 or 1862. I got her first name from the depositions of the will of their Son William L Bigley. Two of his sisters gave depositions and said that Almira in one and Elmira in the other deposition was married before to James Ross and their Son Joseph lived with the Bigleys when he was growing up. One of my cousins in the Ross family, told me they got notification when William L died in Nov 1933 and they asked my Father, who told them that "we do not talk to that side of the family and to throw the notification away".
