Hi, everyone, I am trying to locate all the descendants of the following line of NW NC between Miles L. ROSS and Thursia Jane HARRIS. I have both lines' ancestors [more on the HARRIS line than the ROSS one at this point.] I need to locate all of the descendants of Miles L. ROSS and Thursia Hane HARRIS. ROSS, b. 1860; d. aft.1930, Surry, NC; son of Alexander ROSS of Yadkin Co. & Elizabeth HARRIS [daughter of David Edwin HARRIS of Yadkin Co. {Alexander ROSS & Elizabeth HARRIS do not appear to have been married; nonetheless, Elizabeth Harris later appeared in Surry County USING the surname ROSS. Elizabeth Harris later married in a brief trip to TN, using her real surname of HARRIS, to James Iredell HARRIS (son of Mary Candace HARRIS, and grandson of Silas & Eada Franklin Harris of Surry Co.) who was himself illegitimate, as far as I have been able to discover.)} The entire relationship between Elizabeth Harris and Alexander Ross has been misunderstood insofar as determining the parentage of Elizabeth's son, Winfield HARRIS: he was the biological son of Alexander Ross with Elizabeth Harris, and Winfield just KEPT the Harris surname of his mother, so he was a Harris, through his mother, Elizabeth, but he was NOT the son of James Iredell Harris with Elizabeth, as some have concluded.] - Following the death of Thursia Jane Harris ROSS in 1894, Miles Ross remarried to Thursia Plutina [UNKNOWN], and also had three sons with his second wife: Coy B. Alec married between 1900 and 1910, and by 1910, his first wife had died, and his children with her were living with their grandfather, Miles. Alec and his younger brothers had gone out to Montana by that time, and were working there for a mining company. (By 1911 or so, they had all returned home, and Calvin had remarried.) Calvin's second son, Alonzo "Lonnie" was recorded in his father's house on the next census in 1920; it is not clear where Calvin's eldest child was at that time, or what happened to Charles Ross. Calvin's youngest son by his first wife, Uri Ross, appears to have remained in the household of his grandfather until he was an adult. By 1930, Alec and his second family had moved to the little hamlet of Edwards, just inside the Wilkes Co. line opposite Elkin in Surry Co. - The children of Alec Ross and his undiscovered first wife were: 1.
