I put together a Ross Family History Project to aid researchers with our surname. It also features a Family Group Sheet Project. This site is not limited to the U.S.A., but also includes Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Canada. I have put up my Ross Family from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania and invite others to submit their family group sheets as well. Together we can help connect other Ross researchers and possibly add a line or two to our existing trees. You will find included at the site a submission form written in PDF format that enables you to enter your own data and submit it to me through your email account, or if you are using Genealogy Sotware that allows you to export a family group sheet in PDF format, you could use that as well. I use FTM and it creates them without a problem. Any data submitted remains your property and will not be sold to others to profit from. Please visit the website: http://clanrossiowa.us/ Richard Ross
As a very long time member of this list, I thank you for posting the address of your website. I've poked around on it on this evening (no worry to those who posted concern) and found a lot of interesting information. I particularly enjoyed your Scotland info. My own Ross line begins (for now) in Virginia with Robert Ross, born in Augusta County before 1750 and died in Botetourt County about 1790. --Dick Ross ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Ross" <richard.ross1@mchsi.com> To: <ROSS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, December 28, 2005 4:54 PM Subject: [ROSS-L] Invitation to All Ross Researchers I put together a Ross Family History Project to aid researchers with our surname. Thanks so much Richard for being willing to take on such a large project. Another surname list I own has such a website, the gentleman who built it has put many many hours into it. It's a wonderful tool for researchers and has stemmed quite a few topic on the mailing list and helped to clear some mysteries. Check out the website here http://chase.genealogysurnames.com/ Thanks again Richard and keep us up todate on the process. I'll get my NJ/PA ROSS's ready to send your way. I've had a peek at the website and think it has great potential. two things of note; the "contact us" button on the site (from the American page) gives no response. the web page doesn't change and an email window doesn't pop up. also, there is an MSN Ross surname research group you may want to link to your site, if they will let you. anyone who wants to leave messages has to sign into MSN Groups, but otherwise it's free and friendly the email is RossFamilyAssociation@groups.msn.com Cornelia ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Ross" <richard.ross1@mchsi.com> To: <ROSS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, December 28, 2005 1:54 PM Subject: Invitation to All Ross Researchers >I put together a Ross Family History Project to aid researchers with our >surname. I checked all the "Contact Us" buttons and they bring up my email program without a problem, so I am not sure why some are having this problem. Does anyone else seem to have this problem? If it gets to be a real problem then I will have to go back to straight links with a plain button. The buttons are designed with Flash so perhaps if that plugin is not installed with your browser that may be the problem. Let me know.
