Dear Ross Listers I am doing some research into the history of education in the county of Sutherland. I was born in Rogart although I now live in Australia. It is a fascinating project. I did not realise until I got going how closely the church was allied with education in the Highlands. Most of my information comes via the Internet. I have found a few schoolmasters surnamed Ross so I thought it would be worthwhile making an appeal through your list for information/ anecdotes to do with schools and schooling.
