Ross.Census are hard to read. He married in McNairy Co.Tn.to Charity or Charlotte Baze in 1841.I want to find info.about him and his parents.I'm not sure if he was born in Tn.or not. I've always been told that our Ross family had come from Scotland, and they come from a long line of ministers.I dont know and am having a hard time in locating him.He died in 1850 between Cassville,and Springfield Mo. before the census were taken that year.But there are no death or burial record,I cant even find out the cause of death.Makes me wonder if he really did die then.I do have info on other Ross's that came from Scotland and then Tn.>Ark.in Benton Co.I'm searching to see if maybe this could be my family.I have all the info.on the rest of my Ross family,but my main search for now,is James.His oldest son was John Alexander Ross(gr.gr.Grandfather)and he was born in 1843 at Barry Co.Mo. I am also searching for James and Charitys daughter Sarah Jane Ross born abt.1848 also in Barry Co.Mo. She married a man named Willoughby and her last known residence was in Crawford co.VanBuren Ark. This is all I know of her. I am searching the son of Lady Janet and Hugh Ross the third Lord of Balnagown in Scotland.He was James Ross born in Sutherlandshire Scotland abt.1776 and died in Benton Co.Ark. in 1840.His wife was a full-blood Cherokee(no name).They had a son John P.Ross born in Tn.in 1801.His wife was Martha born in NC.in 1799.They were the parents of William B.Ross b.in TN. in 1829.He also married a Martha C.born in Georgia 1832. Lady Janet and Hugh also had Daniel Ross(chief John Ross father) and Andrew Ross,they also had one daughter but no name.So James,Daniel,Andrew,and their sister were all born in Sutherlandshire,Scotland. Maybe this will help. I have a little more about James and his decendents,but not much. For all I know this could be my James,but cant prove it,since I dont know anything about him.
