1. John R. Ross b. 1795 probably in VA d. Aug 1871 in Marion Co., TN. Believed to be buried in Ross Mountain homeplace. m. Nancy Tabor in 1821. Records refer to them as "Married Abt 1821 of VA." Nancy died 1850. Had 9 children. 2. John Edward Ross, son of John R. above, b. 1831 m. Nancy Brown in TN abt 1853. Nancy was born btw 1832-1840. John Edward was also married to a "Mary." John Edward had 10 children all believed to be by Nancy Brown. 3. John Harrison Ross, son of John Edward above. b. 5/13/1858 Grundy Co., TN. D. Jan 1946 in Signal Mountain, TN. Married Cynthia Malinda P. Massengale (b. 8/10/1856) on 5/13/1880 in Grundy County. Cynthia died 11/22/1921 in Fall Creek, TN. They had 9 children. 4. John Edward Ross, son of John Harrison above. b. 7/13/1882 in Laager, Grundy, TN. Died 4/14/1951 in Sewanee, Franklin, TN buried Fall Creek Cemetery. Married 7/1/1900 in Whitwell, TN to Margaret Isabel Trussell. Margaret b. abt 1884 in Battle Creek, Marion, TN, d. 1951, buried in Fall Creek Cemetery. They had 5 children. 5. John Everett Ross, grandson of John Edward above. b. 2/25/1930 in Grundy, TN. was killed in action in Korea on 9/1/1951. 6. John Wayne Ross, nephew and namesake of John Everett above.
