Posted on: Ross Family Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/FamilyAssoc/Ross/628 Surname: ROSS, BAZE, WILLOUGHBY, BLACK, SHULTS or, SHULTZ ------------------------- Linda, I am Debra Cheater's sister. I appreciate the info that she has come across on our ROSS line. I took notice that you have family in Missouri. We also have family from Barry Co., Missouri. Our ggg-Grandfather, James A. or Y. ROSS married Charity or Charlotte BAZE in 1841 in McNairy Co., TN. They moved to Missouri between 1841 and 1844. Their first son was John Alexander ROSS born in 1844 in Cassville, Barry Co., MO. Their other 2 children were Hyrum Macdonel (McDonald) ROSS, b. 1846; and Sarah Jane ROSS (WILLOUGHBY) b. 1848. All children born in Cassville, Barry Co., MO. James died around early 1850 between Cassville and Springfield, MO. Debra also mentioned in a previous posting that according to our family, our ancestors were from Scotland and came from a line of ministers. I read somewhere tonight that Alexander ROSS was a minister in the 1700's in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was during the time of James II was overthrown in Edinburgh, Scotland and they fled to London. I will try to find that again. Any info you or anyone may have will be appreciative. I was just wondering what part of MO did your ROSS family from. Susan Dry [email protected]
