    3. Posted on: Ross Family Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/FamilyAssoc/Ross/614 Surname: Ross ------------------------- I am afraid that it is very difficult to find clear material on the Ross family. There are just too many of us! I don't see any connection in what you write to what I know of our family. From Canada the Rosses I know came to Wisconsion and then mostly to California. If I come up with anything that will help you I will pass it on. Dan

    3. Can anyone help me to identify this Rachel Ross? What happened to her after 1830? According to Preble County, Ohio, marriages 1808-1859 which I found in the LDS IGI Record, Rachel Ross married Daniel Leas on 3 Dec 1826 in Preble County, Ohio. In the 1830 Census for Preble County, this family appears - Lanier twp, Preble County, OH Daniel Leas - 1 Male under 5 2 Males of 10 and under 15 1 Male of 70 and under 80 1 Female of 40 and under 50 I propose that this is Daniel Leas and Rachel Ross. The child under 5 I believe to be their child, said to be Wesley Leas. The other two children I assume to be children of Rachel, therefore her married name would have been Ross. Daniel died between 1830 and 1840 and I find no Rachel Leas in the 1840 Census.
