Our Hugh Ross had a son John Hugh ( Jehue) Ross of Alabama that married Martha Griffin,on April 16,1850, they had a son John Wesley Ross that married Perdelia E.McClammy, on December 22, 1870 at the brides fathers home, married by John Hardee JP....the name was carried on through the family...more than one of John Hugh ( Jehue) sons named a son John Wesley Ross.... John Hugh Ross joined the Civil War August 22 1863, he died of disease in the Hospital in Greenville, Alabama in Jan 1864. I have records Civil War records that we paid to get showing his enlistment on August 22 in Monroe County, Alabama by L. D. Steel and him being absent sick from Oct 31 to Dec 31, it states he was last paid by Capt McVay on Oct 31, 1863 and no other records..Martha Griffin Ross had twin sons in early Jan 1864, she was notified of his death while still in bed from having the twins..James and Daniel Ross.. I have a picture of John Wesley Ross and his wife Perdelia McClammy and mother with all except one or two of his children. I am interested in any data on the Ross family.
