Hi Paul, There is a book published my Mary Pyle PALMER called Descendants of Herman and Cathering Lowry Ross" detailing more of the later generations, but giving pretty much what we know of James and his family. She and I have worked on this line for years. I do have a copy of the book and if there is anything I can look up for you, I will be happy to do so. First of all, I am wondering why you have the birthplace possibly in PA? Do you have some sort of evidence to that effect? Secondly, James had a son Jacob. We feel his and Elizabeth's mother might have been different from the mother of the other children because of the gap in ages between the two groups but have no confirmation yet. The name Wesley doesn't appear in our line, but it does in some collateral lines. There is a Wesley GIBBONEY (intermarried with WESTOVERs who intermarried with ROSSes) and Calvin Wesley BITTNER. Looks as if the latter was a mingling of Methodists with Presbyterians. In searching my files, I see I had some contact with you back in 1992. Sorry to see you have not really been successful in much of your ROSS research since then. I put away my work for ten years as well after the death of my husband in an auto accident but it is something never far from my mind. I am attaching a few photos of various ROSSes to see whether you can discern any resemblance to your ROSS line. So far as DNA research goes, if you have a male ROSS relative who would be willing to do the test, it would be a stab in the dark but might eventually match another line as the data base expands. The cost is a little less than two hundred dollars, but I felt it could save more than that in research expenses if it provides information. Nonetheless, it is a fascinating look into the past migrations of our ancestors. I am looking forward to hearing from you again. Best wishes, Jean in FL
