    3. Hi Linda, Nice to hear from you. Good question (a response that usually means, "Idon't know", which is the case here). Actually, we might have some ROSSes went to NC. Adam ROSS, son of James, was married first to Dorothea WILL. Dorothea was the daughter of Daniel WILL (b 1746/7 Berks Co, PA), son of Gerhard WILL b. Hessen-Kassel who died in Tryon Co, NC in 1778. Evidently part of a religious settlement, there are some records on him and I thought I might find some associated ROSSes among them, but my checking the records was limited to old newsletters on file at the Tampa Library. People did often migrate in groups and James' daughter Mary married a Christopher BURKET, also from Hessen-Kassel. The Y-DNA shows recent ancestral origins (over past several hundred years) concentration in the British Isles and Ireland, next is Germany, and minor evidences of British Isles, Moldove (of all places!), the Netherlands, Poland, Scotland, and Wales. I still don't know enough about the DNA process to identify exactly what all these results mean, but am assuming that there is evidence of the YDNA in descendants from each of those countries. Please do keep in touch, Jean On 10/9/06, Linda wrote: > Hello , i am researching my Ross lines and i would like to know if > you had any Ross ancestors that migrated to North Carolina in the > early 1800's or late 1700's ? > > > Elizabeth "Betsy" (Hill) Ross who married Jonas Edwards was my GG > grandmother.
