Hello - I have unverified: the wife of John GRAY (b. probably PA, d. btw 1811-1814, Mason Co, KY)was Rachel ROSS (b. ca. 1764, d. bef. 1816, Mason Co, KY) and this Rachel ROSS was the daughter of John ROSS (d. 1812, Fleming Co, KY, Rev War Pvt., son of William ROSS and Arminella WHITESIDE). ROSS b-Sep. 3, 1878 - married 1909 to Lucy Eleanor Faulkner, below the date and her name in brackets was Saint John, New Brunswick. My Aunt, Elsie Ross was born in September, 1895, to parents Ambrose S. Ross and Sarah Emma Self Ross. When Ambrose Ross died in the late-1800's, Elsie went to live with her maternal grandparents, William M. Self and Perlina Glenn Self, in Orange County, IN. It is here that she appears in the June, 1900, (Ind., Orange Co. Southeast twp. ED 104, page 3B) census. In that census her first name is spelled "Eiley". Sometime before the 1910 census, her grandparents must have died, because there is no apparent record for them or her after 1900. Hi Listers, I'm searching information about my 4x-great grandfather, Donald ROSS. He was a Loyalist during the American Revolution and was evacuated from New York at the end of the war. He was with the group that was transported to Guysborough, Nova Scotia in 1783. Donald was granted land as well as a town lot near the church in Guysborough in 1784. Donald's wife's name was Ann MORRIS, daughter of Richard MORRIS, also a Loyalist. I'm trying to learn where Donald came from in Scotland, when he was born and died, who his ancestors and siblings were, and which unit he served with during the war. I hope this goes through to everyone. I must be the last one to hear about this apparently very old hoax. Just in case someone else has not heard, thought I'd let you know what happened. My mother-in-law got a letter about the "International Stolze Family 2004 yearbook". I claimed to have many centuries of valuable Stolze records, census, trees,..... Introductory price about $40. I may have been born last week, but not yesterday. For some reason, I tried to look it up on the internet. No luck. There was a picture of a yearbook that listed a parent company -- Morphcorp. I looked that up and found hundreds of listings including some from the biggest online genealogy services -- Ancestry, Genealogy,....-- ALL showing it as a scam. Evidently, if you send them your money, you get a printout of some SSDI, phone directory, and a few other things sometimes some instructions on how to look things up. The message boards I found were from people who had bought books for various surnames. What few facts they got were often wrong! I have heard others talk of getting histories in books, but this one is not a legitimate place. Hugh was born abt 1761 Cumberland Co, PA and died abt 29 Nov 1829 Cumberland Co, PA. David Ross went to Highland Co, OH about 1816 and departed for Hardin Co, OH after the 1830 OH Census.
