Can anyone shed some light on the siblings of Daniel Ross? I have a John R. Ross who claimed to be the nephew of Daniel. It also appears that he may have been orphaned and lived with Daniel and Mary at some point during boyhood. I'll be happy to provide the descendant info I have on John R. Ross, b. 1795. Rumor has it that John R. had more Cherokee blood than the Chief, so I'm thinking that at least one of John R.'s parents must have been Cherokee. Of course, with all the "claims," "may have beens" and "rumors" who knows where this guy came from. At any rate, my husband descends from him directly, so I'm grasping at straws and hoping. I am also at a dead end with my Arthur ROSS. I found him in the 1850 Harris County, GA census. It states he was born 1799 in SC. Living in house # 911 of the Osborn Mill District and a farmer with value of $1,500.00. His wife is Nancy HERRIN ROSS, born 1805 in SC. They were married, 14 April 1825 in Henry Co, GA. I have only found 2 daughters, Nancy and Elizabeth. I know nothing about his parents, siblings, or other children. Nancy married a PARHAM and Elizabeth married , Noah EVANS. Arthur and Nancy did have children living with them named HARP or HART. I know from another researcher, the Harts were involved with the family, but I still don't know how. I would appreciate any information anyone might have on this family. I am looking for a CHARLES G. ROSS, who was married to a RICHARDSON girl from Winslow, Kennebec County, Maine in the 1880's. In 1902, they resided in Lewiston, Androscoggin County Maine. He had two sisters Naomi and Eliza (Ruby) and one brother John. He was born 10/24/05. In 1921 he attended Haskell until 1925 I am not sure what he did between 1916 after his mother Annie Osborne died until then. In 1927 he inlisted in the Navy and his residence was listed as Portland, Maine. After entering the Navy he was stationed from Virginia to California to New York To Washington DC to Kansas City to Seattle, WA and I am not sure where else. Does anyone have information on any children that he may have?????
