I am searching for anyone connected to a William Ross who married Elizabeth Hinton 12 Sep 1812 in Duncanville, PA. That would be in Huntingdon County, I believe, although the IGI says Blair County. Blair became a county in 1846, long after the marriage. Furthermore, it is possible that Elizabeth is somehow connected to Margaret J. Hinton who married David Robb. The Robb's are part of my Ross Family of Ohio. This William could well be my missing father to A. H., George H. and Sullivan Ross of Logan County, OH. George and Sullivan both named their firstborn sons William H. and their mother was named Elizabeth. Unfortunately, William Ross died prior to the 1850 Census. -- Richard Ross ----------------------------------------------- Surname Project Coordinator (ALHN) http://www.geocities.com/a2z_alhn/ Indiana State Coordinator (IN ALHN) http://www.usgennet.org/usa/in/state1/ Rhode Island State Coordinator (RI AHGP) http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ri/state1/ Virginia State Coordinator (VA AHGP) http://www.geocities.com/va_ahgp/ West Virginia State Coordinator (WV AHGP) http://www.geocities.com/wva_ahgp/ Wayne County Coordinator (IA ALHN) http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~rkross/ Putnam County Coordinator (MOGenWeb)) http://www.rootsweb.com/~moputnam/ Vernon County Coordinator (WIGenWeb) http://www.rootsweb.com/~wivernon/ Lyme City Coordinator (New London County, CT) http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctclyme/ ----------------------------------------------- TERRY'S CEMETERY RESTORATION & REPAIR http://www3.50megs.com/bnkterry/ ROSS GENEALOGY RESOURCE CENTER http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rkross/ 2,700+ Names - 900+ Families -----------------------------------------------

Posted on: Ross Family Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/FamilyAssoc/Ross/569 Surname: Ross, Langley ------------------------- We have been searching for my grandfather's family since the beginning of time (or so it seems ). We are drawn to your family of Angus Ross simply because of the location of Angus Ross's children's birth. My gr-grandmother was born in the Whitley County, KY area; this would be my grandfather, William Ross, mother-in-law. I'm sure you've seen our information numerous times before, but I'll post it again in the hopes that perhaps you have a William Ross in your line that would come close to matching the stats on my grandfather: WILLIAM ROSS -born abt. 1880 in TN or GA(?) -married Julia Ettie Langley, 8/24/1900 in Morgan County, TN -had two sons ---William "Bill" Ross ---Ronald "Ray" Ross (my father) -died about 1909 (date, location and cause unknown) William Ross was reportedly from a family of about 13 kids and moved to the Morgan County, TN area with two of his brothers, however we've not even been able to verify this from the records in Morgan County, TN, other than there are two male Rosses who appear in the 1900 Census who seem to disappear by 1910. Their names are: MARION L. ROSS -born 4/1874 TN -married Vera M. (unknown), born 8/1875 in IN -two children ---unnamed (dead) ---Marion L. (son), b. 6/1899 in TN ROSS, Edward J. (brother of Marion L.) -born 9/1884 in TN We think there's a possibility that these may be brothers of my grandfather, but have been unable to locate family history on them either. We don't know what happened to them as they were not mentioned in the 1910 Census to our knowledge. Any help, clues, hints, suggestions . . . ANYTHING at all would wonderfully appreciated.
