Those of you who have "subscribed" to the new ROSE-OBITS-L list will note that the messages all seem to be coming from me. Well, there is a reason for that. I have decided to try to set the list up as a "Moderated" list. This means that any messages you send to the list will be intercepted by me and then forwarded to the list. This will allow me to determine whether the offerings are indeed according to the rule: "Only Obituaries or Obituary Indexes are allowed" and that the subject is formatted in a certain manner like: "ANGELL, Helen A ( )[ROSE]; 96; WI>Bloomfield Hills MI; Royal Oak DT; 2001-7-13". There will be no "chatty" messages allowed. If I can find a better way of re-directing the messages (I now use Outlook Express and I must use the "forwarding" technique) they will appear as if they came from you. You will note that the message contained will offer credit to each of you who submit the information. The main advantage of this regimentation is that the archived messages will be in the form of an easy to view research document with quick determination as to whether the message pertains to your concern. There will be only one name referenced per message. By the way, I have saved quite a few of Maureen's messages and I will be sending them to the new list as I have the time. Please don't duplicate those if you have them saved. Maureen will be sending her usual input to the new list from now on. Please try this out and let me know privately if you have any suggestions.
