Hi listers, I was checking a website Irish Re-productive loans, that Patsy of New Zealand gave. www.movinghere.org.uk/search/ default.asp. I found several with the name MIchael D & Elizabeth Carty although I don't know if there is a connection with my family. I found 2 Michael D Cartys, one residence MOUNTAIN 1847 (or could it be MOUTAIS?) with Surety & residence Michael Horan & Ignatiaus Brown. On the next line is a Thomas Crofton, Mountain, the Surety names of Thomas Carty & Ignatiaus Brown I also found an Elizabeth Carty, Mountain, Surety names Thomas Carty & John Brown of Mountain, date April 1847. On another page there is a Michael D Carty (can't make out the residence. Looks like C (or O) lean or ss ?) Surety Thomas Carty & Thomas (looks like McLaughlin) also residence Cleass? Is there anyone on the list who can tell me where Mountain or Moutais is in Roscommon or can decipher what the other residence is? My Thomas Carty was born in Kilukens 1833 but that doesn't mean they couldn't move to another place, since his father Michael, was a farm laborer... The rest of the site is very interesting. I wonder if anyone on the list knows of a good map that shows these townlands? I have a pretty good map of Roscommon but not many towns are listed. Thanks for any help you can give me.
