Hi Jan, My BERN, BEIRN, BEIRNE, BYRNE family of Boyle in County Roscommon were Elizabeth (my gr-gr-grandmother) and her brother, Thomas (b 1794); children of Cecelia Hanly (Hanley) & Thomas BERNE. Unfortunately, I don't know the names of the others of Cecelia & Thomas's children, but didn't every Catholic family have a female named Mary? There were many Byrne families of the various spellings living in Boyle in this time frame.
