Hi- Wondering if anyone is researching CUNNINGHAM (John and possible bros. Richard & Michael) who was in Nova Scotia by 1740s (involved in settlement of Halifax 1749 and Lunenburg in 1750s). Recently in episode 86 of BBC 7's "A short History if Ireland in 240 Episodes", they mentioned 4 Cunningham families from Wigtownshire in SW Scotland who were given land in the James 1st plantations in 1609 in Ulster- in Co Donegal. Not much detail was given but I have been trying to find the connection from Scotland to Ireland, and think this may be a clue, however tenuous. (A nod's a good as a wink to a blind horse...) Any help appreciated. Thanks, Thompson in Canada
